Pedro Flores creates art line by line

When Pedro Flores first saw the work of German artist Albrecht Dürer, he admired the complex lines that marked the Renaissance master’s art. Later, after adopting the style in his own work, Flores learned that Dürer made prints from engravings carved into a metal plate.

Flores was born in Mexico and moved to the United States 10 years ago. A resident of Manchester, Tenn., he plans to move to a larger city when he finishes school at East Tennessee State University. He hopes to attend graduate school to study Spanish.

Cuando Pedro Flores vio por primera vez el trabajo del artista alemán Albrecht Dürer, él admiró las complejas líneas que marcaban el arte de este maestro del Renacimiento. Más tarde, al adoptar este estilo en su propio trabajo, Flores descubrió que Dürer hacía impresiones de grabados sobre planchas de metal.

“Pensaba que eran dibujos hechos con bolígrafos pero en realidad eran impresiones”, dice Flores, cuyas obras de arte decoran su apartamento en Johnson City, Tennessee.
